Mine2Yours Guidebook

Everything important, without the long tutorial.

Use this guide whenever you need a reminder about finding a rental, creating a listing, receiving payouts, or staying protected.

For renters

How to rent something

01

Search nearby

Enter what you need and your location, then use the category filters to narrow the results.

02

Review the listing

Check the description, price, deposit, available dates, handoff hours, rules, add-ons, and cancellation policy.

03

Send a request

Choose precise pickup and return times, select any extras, and review the complete price before requesting.

04

Sign and secure payment

Sign your rental agreement and complete payment setup. Saving a card does not mean you have been charged; collection follows owner approval and your agreed payment schedule.

05

Check payment before pickup

Open Payments for the charge schedule and confirmation. At pickup, follow the owner’s readiness instructions and record condition photos before taking the item.

06

Return and close out

Mark the actual return, then let the owner inspect the item and complete return checkout. Track any deposit refund in Payments; open claims may pause release.

07

Coordinate safely

Keep pickup details and important agreements inside Mine2Yours messages.

For owners

How to create a strong listing

01

Complete your profile

Add your display name, city and state, and a short introduction so renters know who they are dealing with.

02

Verify payouts

Open Payments and complete Stripe onboarding. Listings cannot publish until the payout account is active.

03

Create the listing

Choose “List an item or space” from the dashboard and add accurate item, pricing, availability, and handoff details.

04

Add clear photos

Show the actual item or space, its condition, included accessories, and any existing wear.

05

Review and approve requests

Check the dates, price, and rules, sign your agreement, and approve only after the renter has completed the required signatures and payment setup.

06

Confirm handoff and return

Wait for confirmed payment before pickup. After the renter returns the item, inspect its condition and complete return checkout so settlement can proceed.

07

Track earnings and payout

Open Payments to see pending owner income, deposit activity, and transfer status. A transfer to Stripe is separate from arrival in your bank.

08

Protect your property

Check your own coverage and the amount at risk. A deposit and saved card do not guarantee recovery. Add item-specific rules that fit the standard rental agreement.

Payments and payouts

Renters see the rental price, service fee, refundable deposit, add-ons, discounts, and payment timing before confirming. Owners see estimated earnings and receive payouts through their connected Stripe account.

Open Payments

Remember

  • • Processing costs may be non-refundable after a payment is processed.
  • • Cancellation terms are shown before a rental request is signed.
  • • Refundable deposits are handled separately from rental earnings.
  • • Keep payment and payout activity inside Mine2Yours.

Know what happens to your money

Is a saved card the same as a paid rental?

No. A request can have a payment method saved while still awaiting owner approval or its charge deadline. Check the rental’s Payments page for the actual collection status. Don’t pay again just because a refund or owner payout is still pending.

What happens when a rental is canceled?

The signed cancellation policy and payments already collected determine the settlement. A renter cancellation after payment can retain the disclosed processing fee and any policy charge. An owner cancellation returns the renter’s collected payment in full; unrecovered processing costs may become an owner balance. Canceling before collection does not create a rental payment. Review the recorded amounts and refund status in Payments.

When do the deposit and owner payout process?

After the actual return, the owner completes inspection and return checkout. Open claims must be reviewed. The deposit refund and owner transfer are separate settlement steps, and processing can wait for available Stripe funds or further review. Money sent to the owner’s Stripe account is not confirmation of a bank deposit. Open Stripe for bank payout availability and timing.

Safety and clear expectations

Describe honestly

Photograph condition and disclose wear, damage, missing parts, access limits, and operating requirements.

Use exact handoff times

Choose pickup and return times within the owner’s stated windows to reduce misunderstandings.

Keep a record

Use messages, condition photos, the rental agreement, and the platform’s return process when something changes.

Rental deadlines and reminders

Requests expire after 24 hours or at pickup time, whichever comes first. Confirm handoffs in your rental; a missed digital confirmation triggers follow-up, not an automatic fee. Overdue, unconfirmed returns protect the item’s availability and flag affected upcoming pickups. Returned items remain in checkout until inspection and any claims are resolved.

New agreements use the listing location’s time zone and started 24-hour billing periods. Daylight-saving changes are included in elapsed time. The same local time on adjacent dates can be 23 or 25 hours apart; review the displayed price before signing. Your device’s time zone is shown separately when different. Historical agreements retain their signed prices and deadlines. Enable optional device notifications in Dashboard → Notifications. iPhone users must open the installed Home Screen app; delivery depends on device permission and network access.
